Inauguration Day 2013

This was one of my favorite moments of the Inauguration--when President Obama paused to savor the moment.  That, and the poem.

Lunch after the swearing in, with recipes linked in (wish I could have seen pictures!):

I think the red potato horseradish cake sounds interesting and delicious.

Now I'm watching and waiting to see what Mrs. Obama's ball gown will look like.  The first lady ball gowns are always one of my favorite exhibits at the American History Museum, right up there with Dorothy's ruby slippers and Julia Child's kitchen.

I watched clips of this being played over and over and over on the TV screens at the airport all night long last night. I too loved that shot of President Obama looking back and savoring the moment, and who can resist Michelle Obama's natural beauty? Nice.

It was a beautiful red gown. Michelle is a very pretty woman. She does seem so sincere.

Sorry it stopped and wouldn't let me write more. I think it was cool that you wrote about this one moment in time. We are very lucky that we live in a country where we can change our leadership without a riot or war. I loved the pomp and circumstance surrounding
